Incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer also appeared on the show this morning in a studio trimmed with Christmas decorations, complete with a roaring fake fire and a portrait of Joe Scarborough above the mantel. The hosts wore flannel pajamas. “Other countries need to understand that if they expand their nuclear capabilities this president is not going to sit back, he’s going to act,” Spicer said on the serious issue of Trump’s nuke tweet.

On whether the tweet was a response to Russian president Vladimir Putin, Spicer said: “I think it’s putting every nation on notice that the United States is going to reassert its position in the globe.”
