Trump Says Campaign Gives ‘Zero Access’ to NBC’s Katy Tur: ‘We Don’t Even Let Her In’

Donald Trump has singled out NBC News correspondent Katy Tur, insisting she reports on Trump’s campaign despite having “zero access,” suggesting Tur reports “without any knowledge.”

Trump made the remarks on Twitter and in an interview on Fox News’ Fox & Friends Monday, where he said his campaign deliberately denies access to Tur. “We don’t even let her in. We don’t talk to her, we don’t let people talk to her because she’s not a very good reporter.”

Trump’s access claim was immediately questioned by Daily Mail U.S. politics editor David Martosko:

Earlier Monday, Tur cited her sources inside Trump’s campaign, saying on MSNBC’s Morning Joe “there is growing internal dissent” among Trump staffers after some of Trump’s recent comments, including attacks on Judge Gonzalo Curiel, whose ability to preside over the Trump University case because Trump has described the American judge as “Mexican.”

UPDATE: Tur has responded to Trump’s comments, saying the candidate is likely reacting to a story published today by Tur, Benjy Sarlin, and Ali Vitali. The story cites unnamed sources who describe the Trump campaign as “a bare-bones effort debilitated by infighting, a lack of staff to carry out basic functions, minimal coordination with allies and a message that’s prisoner to Trump’s momentary whims.”
