Tom Brokaw’s Next USA Documentary to Focus on the Civil Rights Movement

By Alex Weprin

Since leaving the “NBC Nightly News” anchor desk, Tom Brokaw has been busy doing other projects for the NBC Universal family. Most recently he has been working with USA Network on a number of documentaries highlighting different aspects of American life and culture.

His latest project is called “Tom Brokaw Presents Bridging the Divide,” a film which will showcase America’s progress 50 years since the launch of the civil rights movement.

By looking beyond the salacious headlines it provides a truer and more complete picture of where the country stands on a range of issues, from discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion, disabilities and sexual orientation to bullying in schools. The film also will highlight the citizens who are working tirelessly for progress and solutions to create a more tolerant United States.
