Todd Gets Obama Exclusive in Elkhart

Today, President Obama visited Elkhart, Indiana to discuss factory grants and make the case that the stimulus package is working. He also took time to give an exclusive interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd.

From 12:43-12:55pmET, Todd spoke with the president while their conversation was broadcast live on MSNBC.

In February, President Obama visited the town—which had the highest rate of unemployment in America—to speak at a local high school before signing the stimulus package into law. Two months later, MSNBC.com launched “The Elkhart Project” to use as a test tube for reporting on the national economy. Yesterday, the project won an online journalism award from the National Press Club. Now, with the president back in Elkhart addressing the economy, everything came together quite tidily for the network.

Except that the feed cut out suddenly in the middle of Todd’s last question (yeeesh). Well, you can’t always have it go your way.
