TVNewser hears that Ilana Drimmer is leaving her full-time booking job at ABC’s “This Week” and heading to a part-time position for NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Drimmer had been with the ABC show for eight years and was looking for a role that would allow her to spend more time with her family.

Drimmer begins with “Meet” next week.

> Update: The email from Meet the Press EP Betsy Fischer after the jump, which also includes the news of the promotion of Chris Donovan to producer.

Dear NBC Friends and Colleagues …

David and I have some exciting “Meet the Press” news to share. We are thrilled to announce a well-deserved promotion and welcome a talented new member aboard our staff.

First, Chris Donovan, our super-star Sr. Researcher and Associate Producer has officially been promoted to Producer, filling the slot that has been open for several months. Chris will continue to oversee the show research in his post but will also work alongside our other outstanding producer, Rebecca Samuels.

Also, we are so fortunate to welcome Ilana Marcus Drimmer to MTP. Ilana will join us next week as a contributing Producer to the program. Ilana spent many years at ABC and prior to that at CNN. We are lucky to have her on our team now!

We are celebrating by taking the weekend off … (oh yeah, the nice folks in France decided to assemble a Sunday morning tennis tournament to help celebrate too).

Best,
Betsy
