Meredith Vieira, as Pinocchio for this morning’s Today show Halloween costume contest, played her part well. During a toss to break during the 8:30 half hour, Vieira said, “But first, this is Today on CBS.” As her nose grew, Matt Lauer, as Humpty Dumpty, just groaned (as opposed to cracking up).
