These People Really Want That FNC App

9:45amET today outside the Apple Store in Soho.

The line outside the Apple Store in New York’s Soho neighborhood isn’t quite as long as it has been all week. We were told these people had been waiting since about 7am today trying to get their hands on the new iPhone 3G. Inside the store it was nearly empty. Then we found out why. This store is about to run out of its supply, which means the folks waiting for hours outside may still go home empty handed. We were told to try the store at 59th Street & 5th Ave., which is also home to CBS’ The Early Show. “The line is only about five hours there,” a smiling Apple associate told us. This is where we mention it’s 95 degrees in New York today.

In addition to launching the new phone last Friday, with a week’s worth of headaches for Apple, the company also opened up the iPhone Apps Store which includes, among other applications, the Fox News Channel UReport app.
