TheBlaze Uses AJAM Launch To Make Carriage Push

By Alex Weprin

With Al Jazeera America launching today, Glenn Beck and his company TheBlaze are making an effort to encourage viewers to request that their cable or satellite provider add their channel to their lineup.

On his radio show this morning, and in an email to subscribers of his website this afternoon, Beck’s team explains the impetus behind the move.

Beck called Al Jazeera “The voice of the enemy” on his show, while the email was a bit milder in tone:

This isn’t about shutting Al Jazeera America out of the conversation. We’re doing this today because it represents yet another news network being added on the left side of the political spectrum, while everyone who identifies as libertarian or conservative still only has one network to turn to.

The mainstream media has always been slanted, and today we want to make sure YOUR voice is heard over the biased noise from the left.

The email also encouraged readers to call and request TheBlaze from their MSO, and to take action on social media.

TheBlaze has slowly shifted from an online-only TV channel to an all-out cable channel. So far it has distribution on DISH Network, Cablevision and a number of smaller regional cable providers.
