The Weirdest Five Minutes of Our Day

Between about 3:55-4:00pmET, there must have been some kind of full moon in TV news land because things seemed to get more and more bizarre on our TVNewser monitors.

On Fox News, Shepard Smith reported on “Another fake bigfoot sighting, and this one is accused of being a pervert,” which was followed by a report about the oldest dog passing away, a story about the Japanese Prime Minister’s wife saying she rode a spaceship, and a conversation with the fill-in stage manager about the regular stage manager who’s pregnant. Signing off Smith said, “Cavuto, what do you have today? Because around here, it went right off of the tracks and into the ravine.”

At the same time on CNN, we saw Roland Martin wearing a cowboy hat.
And then Rick Sanchez making this face during the R&R (Rick & Roland) segment. Today’s topic: the Texas secessionist movement:
