The View EP Bill Wolff Departs

By Brian Flood

Bill Wolff, who was named ep of The View a year ago this week, is leaving the show at the end of next week. Wolff will be on board as season No. 19 gets underway with a mostly new cast including GMA’s Paula Faris, and the return of  Joy Behar.

ABC News president James Goldston wrote in a note to staff that Wolff had “decided to move on to new opportunities.”

Wolff joined The View from MSNBC where he was vp of primetime programs. Wolff, along with another MSNBC alum, Brian Balthazar took over for Bill Geddie who had been with the show from the start. Balthazar left in February.

“Bill was an upbeat, unwavering and steady hand behind the scenes in the control room and on the floor day in and day out.  He leaves The View well positioned for even brighter days this fall,” Goldston writes.

Oprah Winfrey Show alum Candi Carter joins as a consulting producer to help launch Season 19. She’ll work alongside new co-executive producer Brian Teta.
