The Top Cable News Shows in Q3 Were…

Fox News had the top 14 cable news programs in total viewers and the top 10 programs in the key A25-54 demographic for the third quarter of 2014. As usual, “The O’Reilly Factor” held the top spot and “The Kelly File” was second. “The Five,” “Special Report” and “On the Record” rounded out the top five in total viewers; “Hannity,” “The Five” and “Special Report” rounded out the top five in the A25-54 demo.
MSNBC’s highest-rated show in total viewers was “The Rachel Maddow Show,” which placed 15th overall in viewers and 21st  in the demo. Maddow’s program averaged 798,000 total viewers and 173,000 demo viewers. “Lockup” was the network’s highest-rated demo program, drawing 178,000 viewers.

Anderson Cooper 360″ was the top daily CNN program in total viewers and the demo, placing 18th and 11th, respectively. The show averaged 643,000 total viewers and 214,000 A25-54 viewers for the quarter. “The Sixties,” which ended its weekly Thursday run this quarter, was the top program in viewers overall, drawing 650,000 viewers.

“Nancy Grace” led HLN among total viewers and the demo, averaging 357,000 viewers and 118,000 demo viewers for the quarter, placing 36th and 35th, respectfully.

“Shark Tank” led CNBC in both total viewers and the demo, ranking 32nd and 14th, respectfully. The top-rated show in total viewers on Fox Business was “Imus in the Morning,” which ranked 86th overall. The top-rated show in the demo was “Stossel,” which ranked 85th overall.
