The Top Cable News Shows in Q2 Were…

Fox News had the top 14 cable news programs in total viewers and the top nine programs in the key A25-54 demographic for the second quarter of 2014. As usual, “The O’Reilly Factor” held the top spot and “The Kelly File” was second. “The Five,” “Special Report” and “On the Record” rounded out the top five in total viewers; “Hannity,” “The Five” and “Special Report” rounded out the top five in the demo.

CNBC was the only network other than Fox News to have a show in the top ten among the A25-54 demo: “Shark Tank,” which averaged 207,000 A25-54 viewers, placed ninth overall. “Shark Tank” also led CNBC in total viewers, averaging 447,000 viewers and placing 23rd overall.

MSNBC’s highest-rated show was “The Rachel Maddow Show,” which placed 15th overall in total viewers and 11th overall in the demo. Maddow’s program averaged 815,000 total viewers and 184,000 demo viewers.

“Anderson Cooper 360” was the top CNN program in total viewers and the demo, placing 21st and 16th, respectively. The show averaged 496,000 total viewers and 157,000 A25-54 viewers for the month.

“Nancy Grace” led HLN among total viewers, averaging 316,000 for the quarter and placing 28th overall. “Forensic Files” topped the network in the demo, averaging 136,000 and placing 24th after all.

The top-rated show in total viewers on Fox Business was “Imus in the Morning,” which ranked 98th overall. The top-rated show in the demo was “War Stories with Oliver North,” which ranked 99th overall.
