The Top Cable News Shows in October Were…

Fox News had the top 14 programs in total viewers and the nine of the top 10 programs in the key A25-54 demographic in October 2014. As usual,”The O’Reilly Factor” was the number one program in cable news in both total and demo viewers, averaging 2,690,000 total viewers and 449,000 demo viewers. “The Kelly File” was second in total viewers and the demo, with 2,182,000 and 373,000 viewers respectively. “The Five,” “Special Report with Bret Baier” and “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” rounded out the top five in total viewers and in the demo.

Reruns of ABC’s “Shark Tank” on CNBC cracked the top 10 in the demo with 218,000 viewers, but came in 28th with 485,000 total viewers.

AC60″ was CNN’s highest-rated daily show in the demo, finishing 13th. MSNBC’s highest-rated show in total viewers was “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” which came in at 15th while “The Rachel Maddow Show” was 16th.

“Nancy Grace” led HLN in total viewers with 294,000, finishing in 41st place. The top-rated show in total viewers on Fox Business was “Varney & Co.,” which ranked 77th overall.
