The Top Cable News Programs in Q2 2013 Were…

As usual, Fox News Channel’s programming topped the competition in the first quarter of 2013. The network notched the top 13 programs among total viewers and the top eight in the A25-54 demographic. “The O’Reilly Factor” was the number one show on Fox News and cable news overall, averaging 2.86 million Total Viewers and 456,000 A25-54 viewers for the quarter.

CNN’s top show in Total Viewers was the 8 p.m. hour of “Anderson Cooper 360,” which placed 14th and averaged 802,000 viewers. “AC360” cracked the top ten among younger viewers, placing eighth and averaging 271,000 viewers in the A25-54 demographic.

“The Rachel Maddow” show was tops on MSNBC in both Total Viewers and the demo, averaging 774,000 and 236,000 viewers, respectively. The program placed 15th in Total Viewers and 15th in the demo for the quarter.

HLN’s top show for the quarter was “Nancy Grace,” which  placed 16th in Total Viewers and 13th in the demo, averaging 726,000 and 241,000 viewers, respectively.

CNBC’s top program in Total Viewers was “Squawk On The Street,” which averaged 238,000 Total Viewers. “American Greed” was the network’s top show in the demo with 92,000 viewers. Stuart Varney’s “Varney & Company” was FBN’s top-rated show in both Total Viewers and the demo, averaging 92,000 Total Viewers and 17,000 A25-54 viewers, respectively.
