The Ticker: (P.M. Edition): Skycam Scrum, Racy Ads, New Correspondent…

By Chris Ariens

> Politico’s Michael Calderone has more on the Skycam squabble in Denver which is leading to questions of favoritism at the DNC. CNN was granted permission, and was prepared to spend $100K, for exclusive use of a Skycam. But Calderone reports an earlier Fox News request to install a Skycam for Thursday’s acceptance speech was turned down by the DNC. The camera, which has become a staple during NFL games, will now be shared by all the networks.

> CNBC.com’s managing editor is apologizing for some racy ads on the site. “These ads aren’t exactly porn, but they cross the business journalism decorum code, I believe,” writes Alan Wastler, who chooses to include a cigar in his headshot.

> Fox News Channel has named its replacement for Chicago correspondent Jeff Goldblatt who is now the main co-anchor at Fox station WFLD. The Chicago Tribune’s Phil Rosenthal reports Carina Sonn, a reporter in Tulsa, will join the bureau next month.
