The Ticker: Garcia-Marquez, BuzzTimes, Bolton

By Alex Weprin

    • Telemundo has tapped Mari Garcia-Marquez as EP of its morning news program “Levántate.” Garcia-Marquez joined the NBCU-owned network earlier this year to oversee the 10th anniversary of Telemundo’s primetime newsmagazine “Al Rojo Vivo.” Prior to joining Telemundo she worked for seven years at Univision, eventually becoming senior EP, and launching that network’s morning news program “Despierta America.”
    • BuzzTimes? BuzzFeed is partnering with the New York Times to produce online video reports live from the 2012 Republican and Democratic National Conventions. The videos will feature staffers from both the Times and BuzzFeed. “We think BuzzFeed’s energy and keen ear for how political stories play out in the social sphere will be a valuable and interesting contribution to The Times’s video presence,” said Jim Roberts, assistant managing editor of The New York Times.
    • Bloomberg TV’s Deirdre Bolton is interviewed by The Next Web. Bolton’s program is a show focused on tech and “alternative assets,” based in New York, why? “Everyone talks about New York as a hub for fashion, finance, media and advertising—and all of these businesses are ready for disruption.”
