The Ticker: Dr. Tim, Asian Television Awards, Wells

By Merrill Knox

  • After 40 years in the business, ABC News medical contributor Dr. Tim Johnson is scaling back his television schedule. TVSpy reports he will retire from his post as medical editor of WCVB, the ABC affiliate in Boston, at the end of the year. Dr. Tim will still contribute periodically to ABC News.
  • The 17th annual Asian Television Awards were presented last night in Singapore. Bloomberg TV’s “First Up” won for best news program and CNN International’s Anna Coren won for best news presenter or anchor.
  • Business Insider has a day in the life slideshow of CNBC’s Jane Wells. Some highlights: a trip to Reno, a pledge to wear an ugly Christmas sweater on CNBC for charity, and a grande nonfat two-pump no-foam mocha from Starbucks. “Go ahead. Mock me,” Wells writes.
