The Ticker: CBS, ABC, CNN…

> Longtime CBS News correspondent Ike Pappas died on Sunday in Virginia. Pappas served as CBS News correspondent from 1964-1987, reporting on the Pentagon, Labor Department, Congress and other areas. He was 75.

> Since he won’t be interviewed by Larry King while in St. Paul, tomorrow’s interview with ABC’s Charlie Gibson will be Sen. John McCain’s only one during the RNC. The interview airs on World News, Nightline and Thursday’s GMA.

> Just as for Sen. Barack Obama’s acceptance speech, CNN is holding a “viewing event” in conjunction with the Times Square Alliance for Sen. John McCain’s acceptance speech in Times Square. The location is the Spectacolor HD, the only true high-definition full video display in Times Square, at 47th and Broadway.
