- HBO has renewed newsmagazine “VICE” for a 12-episode second season. Season two will debut on the pay cable channel next year. The renewal comes just a day before the season finale, which goes to North Korea with Dennis Rodman.
- The Daytime Emmy Awards on HLN will have a decidedly different format this year: the winners will be interviewed on stage immediately after accepting the statues. Sam Champion, A.J. Hammer and Julie Chen will be among those interviewing the winners.
- RT took home the top prize in the 24-hour news category at the Monte Carlo TV Festival, beating out competition from CNN International, Al Jazeera and Sky News. RT took home the award for its coverage of the meteorite crash in Chelyabinsk.
