The P.M. Ticker: HLN, First Business, ’60’

  • HLN is partnering with tech news website the The Daily Dot for weekly co-branded segments. On-air segments kick-off Monday, Dec. 1 on HLN Now (Noon-5pmET) and will also be shared across the Daily Dot sites. The first series “Next Sex,” features Daily Dot’s EJ Dickson.

  • Chicago-based Weigel Broadcasting is pulling the plug on its half-hour syndicated morning news show “First Business News,” Robert Feder reports. “First Business News” began as the “The Stock Market Observer” in 1967, and for decades aired up to 6 hours a day from the Chicago Board of Trade. The final broadcast will be Dec. 22.

  • For the fourth consecutive week, “60 Minutes” cracked the Top 10 most-watched shows. 12.7 million viewers watched Sunday’s broadcast, making it the 8th most-popular show of the week. This is the fifth time in the last seven weeks that “60 Minutes” has made the Top 10.
