TV Newsers ‘Go Red For Women’ to Promote Awareness of Cardiovascular Disease

A lot of TV newsers are rocking red today, and not necessarily in support of the Falcons or Patriots.

Today is National Wear Red Day, an annual event is part of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women initiative, which is an effort to increase awareness of heart disease in women.

Fox News’ Outnumbered panel is awash in red today. Sandra Smith, Harris Faulkner, Megan McCain, Kennedy wore red dresses, while Fox News political editor Chris Stirewalt joined the fray, and rocked a sharp red tie.

“The color wheel is not broken, people,” exclaimed Faulkner. “We aren’t bridesmaids at a wedding. It is ‘Go Red for Women Day’ today to knock out cardiovascular disease, our No. 1 killer. We are trying to get the word out there, that is why we are all in red.”

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle and Hallie Jackson are wearing red today as well. “Do you think I’m wearing red for the Patriots? I’m not,” said Ruhle. “It is National Wear Red Day, and heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women. So, women, please, take care of your heart.”

Hoda Kotb was wearing red during the 10 a.m. hour of Today. “This is National Wear Red Day for heart health, bring awareness to heart health and women,” said Kotb. “We changed the entire set to red…we don’t realize how many people pass away from heart disease. It’s the No. 1 killer in women, we have to pay attention to that.” Jenna Bush Hager joined Kotb in the hour, and wore a small red pin.

Robin Roberts sported red this morning on ABC’s Good Morning America.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer is wearing red during today’s White House press briefing. “It’s National Wear Red Day, highlighting the importance of preventing heart disease,” said Spicer.

We have a hunch Spicer’s tie hails from the Donald J. Trump collection, but are unable to confirm.
