CNN’s Lola Ogunnaike had an exclusive interview that has aired multiple times today with Desiree Rogers, the first African-American White House social secretary. When she first got to the White House “I got lost a lot,” she said, but now she has settled in.
She says there is a different atmosphere among the staff. “This is going to be more casual — maybe we don’t need as much glassware or silverware,” she said.
Ogunnaike got a tour of the Super Bowl room as well. “It’s America, so we really did celebrate America. We had popcorn, we had lots of cookies,” said Rogers of the event.
