The Morning Ticker: Cheney, Gannett, Sochi

By Chris Ariens Comment

  • Former Vice President Dick Cheney is making the rounds for his new book, “Heart: An American Medical Odyssey.” Cheney talked with CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta for a segment on “60 Minutes” last night, parts of which will air on CNN’s AC360 tomorrow night. NBC’s Savannah Guthrie got a live interview with Cheney this morning on “Today.”

  • Gannett Co. reported a 14% revenue decline in the third quarter. The decrease “reflects the absence of Olympic and political spending partially offset by significant growth in retransmission revenue and digital revenue growth of 20.7 percent,” Gannett says.

  • Get ready for Sochi overload. Tomorrow, the networks of NBCUniversal count down the final 100 days before the Winter Olympics. A “roadblock” of increased Olympic promotion will begin across NBC, as well as cable and radio networks, 230+ affiliates and all social platforms.
