‘The Factor’ Is Gunning for First Place. No, Not That ‘Factor’

The Louisville Courier-Journal has a fun article about “The Factor.” Not the Fox News Channel TV show, hosted by Bill O’Reilly, but rather a thoroughbred horse. And yes, the horse is named–at least in part–after the TV show:

Co-owner George Bolton named The Factor for two things: the position of those in Europe who manage royal estates, as well as Bill O’Reilly’s popular Fox News show The O’Reilly Factor…

“I said, “George, this is all camouflage for you trying to get promotion to a very conservative cause called the O’Reilly Factor. Don’t give me this ‘the factor’ stuff when it comes to your European whatever it is,’” Shimmon said. “He said, ‘No, no, no. This position is critically important, and it’s something we should recognize.’

“So I always had my doubts. And then Bob Baffert and George kind of spilled the beans, that while it might have had every good intention of honoring this position in Europe, the real underlying intent was associated with The O’Reilly Factor, which Baffert loves, Bolton loves and actually I love it. Simply because, while I don’t agree with everything that’s on Fox News, I find it to be incredibly informative and even more entertaining.”

O’Reilly has even shown clips of “The Factor” on his “Factor.”
