“The Daily Show’s” Samantha Bee’s infatuation with cable news romance apparently isn’t limited to the “love story” she depicted between Fox News’ “The Five’s” Greg Gutfeld and Dana Perino—she set her sights on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” last night.
Bee told the story of “daddy Joe” and “mother Mika,” who together create a “rocket ship of passion that is middle-aged coupledome.”
She then shared what the fruits of the co-hosts “romance” has produced: boy pundits, listing off “Willie”(Willie Geist), “Marky” (Mark Halperin), “the Toddster” (Chuck Todd), and a cast of other show regulars.
Bee then got emotional as she showed clips of Joe and Mika arguing. “You guys are going to get divorced, aren’t you? Please don’t make me go live with Lawrence O’Donnell… he doesn’t flush the toilet,” Bee cried.
“Morning Joe” is not reciprocating the love. This morning the show opened instead with a “Colbert Report” clip. Now that Bee has told Fox News and MSNBC “love stories” we anxiously await her CNN version.
