The Book Tour Begins: Former President, George W. Bush Speaks to Matt Lauer & FNC

By Molly Stark Dean

Former President George W. Bush‘s book, “Decision Points,” comes out tomorrow. So what’s on the former president’s agenda to promote the book?

Sean Hannity’s interview with the former president at his ranch in Crawford, TX airs tomorrow night. Bush told Hannity:

“Words matter. The modern president is of course every word is analyzed. And sometimes I didn’t get my words right. And I never tell these audiences I speak to, you didn’t elect me cause I was Shakespeare. And I didn’t pretend to be. The truth of the matter is you speak a lot as the president. And of course you’re going to say things that when you look back at it, you wish you could put it differently.”

The former president’s interview with Bill O’Reilly will air on “The O’Reilly Factor” Thursday night.

Tonight, Matt Lauer sits down with Bush for an NBC prime-time special. “He’s an extraordinarily fair interviewer,” Jim Bell, the executive producer of “Today” and the Bush special, told the New York Times. “We’re living in a time when some of television news is partisan, and Matt and the ‘Today’ show are decidedly not so.”

CNN senior political correspondent Candy Crowley also interviewed Bush. The CNN interview will air on Sunday, Nov. 14 in a prime-time special.
