The Afternoon Ticker: Romneys on ABC, NBC/Foursquare, SNY Studios

By Alex Weprin

  • Presumptive GOP Presidential nominee Mitt Romney and his wife Ann Romney will appear in their first joint interview this year with ABC’s Diane Sawyer.  The interview will take place at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, and will air on “ABC World News” Monday, April 16. Extended segments will also run on “Nightline” and “Good Morning America” the next day.
  • NBC News and Foursquare are teaming up to offer “badges” to users that check-in at political hotspots around the country. Mashable reports that users that check in to arenas, museums and restaurants associated with campaigns or political events are in line to receive NBC-branded badges such as “Campaign Wonk,” “Chief of Staff” and ‘Campaign Adviser.”
  • SNY–the regional sports network owned by the New York Mets–is debuting a new studio in midtown Manhattan, right near the headquarters of News Corporation and NBCUniversal. The studio, which will be home to “Sportsnite,” Loud Mouths,” “Daily News Live”  as well as Mets pre and post-game shows, features 14 very large monitors. The Sports Video Group has more.
