Tip-off of the Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors game is in just a few minutes. The NBA Playoff game has been overshadowed for the last 24 hours by the comments made by Clippers owner Donald Sterling. TMZ got its hands on an audiotape of Sterling making racist remarks in a conversation with his mistress. Deadspin has an even longer version of the recording.
The story took on a new dimension when NBC’s Chuck Todd asked President Obama about it at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur early today.

The story was the lead on “Meet the Press,” which included a panel discussion, Bob Schieffer asked two elected officials on “Face the Nation” for their reaction, and “This Week” had a report from Jon Karl, who is also traveling with the president. Karl called it “a little surprising” that Pres. Obama “weighed in so forcefully and so quickly.” The White House press office says the president wasn’t going to bring it up, but when Todd asked him about it directly, he was prepared to give a forceful answer.
