David Gregory’s interview with Mitt Romney boosted NBC’s “Meet the Press” back to first place among the Sunday public affairs shows on September 9. ABC’s “This Week” was second and CBS’ “Face the Nation,” guest-hosted on Sunday by Norah O’Donnell, was third.
“Fox News Sunday,” which delivered its second-highest A25-54 audience of 2012, was fourth. Univision’s “Al Punto” was fifth.
The year-ago Sunday shows were preempted or abbreviated for coverage of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Compared to last week, NBC, Fox and Univision were up in both ratings measurements, while ABC was down. CBS was up in Total Viewers but down in the A25-54 demographic.
Cable rebroadcasts of “Fox News Sunday” averaged a combined combined 1,911,000 Total Viewers and 388,000 A25-54 viewers.
“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour airs in just 69% of the country.
