Sunday Show Ratings: May 4

By Merrill Knox

The Sunday public affairs show leaderboard shifts again this week: CBS’ “Face the Nation” took home the top spot in both ratings measurements on May 4.

After two straight wins, ABC’s “This Week” fell back to second. NBC’s “Meet the Press” remained in third, delivering its lowest A25-54 audience in more than 22 years (since the start of Nielsen’s electronic database in 1991).

Compared to the same week last year, “This Week” is the only show to grow in both ratings measurements, up +11% in total viewers and +19% in A25-54 viewers. “Face the Nation” and Univision’s “Al Punto” were flat in total viewers and up in the demo and “Meet the Press” and “Fox News Sunday” were down across the board.

“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 50% of the country.
