CBS’ Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer was the top-rated Sunday public affairs program in total viewers and the key A25-54 demo on May 24. Despite the win for CBS, Fox News Sunday showed tremendous growth in the demo.
ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos finished second in both categories, while Meet the Press with Chuck Todd was preempted due to NBC’s coverage of the Monaco Grand Prix.
Face the Nation was up +11% in total viewers but down -17% in the demo, compared to the same day last year. This Week was down -12% in viewers and -6% in the demo.
Fox News Sunday was up +13% in viewers and up +50% in the demo, while combining with cable replays for 2.97 million viewers. Replays on FNC averaged a combined 1.68 million total viewers and 363,000 in the demo.
Face the Nation is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 76.3% of the country.
