NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd was the top Sunday show of the week across the board for the second consecutive week. MTP has ranked No. 1 in total viewers for nine of the past 10 weeks, and No. 1 in the key A25-54 demo 45 out of the last 48 weeks it has been rated. MTP was preempted this Sunday last year for NBC’s coverage of the Barclays Premier League season finale.
The episode featured interviews with Sec. of State Rex Tillerson, Sen. Chuck Schumer and Sen. Lindsey Graham.
CBS, ABC and FOX’s Sunday shows posted year-over-year audience declines. Face the Nation with John Dickerson was -15 percent in total viewers and -11 percent in the news demo versus the comparable Sunday in 2016.
ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos was -9 percent in total viewers and -12 percent in the demo from last year. Nevertheless, the program continues to deliver its largest overall audience in 18 years– since the 1998-99 season.
The May 14 broadcast of Fox News Sunday hosted by Chris Wallace was -13 percent in total viewers and -17 percent in the news demo versus the same Sunday last year. The trio of cable replays delivered 2.87 million total viewers and 601,000 demo viewers at 2 p.m., 10 p.m., and 2 a.m. ET telecasts. Altogether, the May 14 edition of FNS delivered 4.28 million total viewers and 1 million demo viewers.
