With politics dominating the news, the Sunday morning shows all saw big growth last week, compared to the same Sunday last year. With Meet the Press sidelined due to the French Open, CBS’s Face the Nation, ABC’s This Week and Fox News Sunday all saw massive audience gains. CBS won the week with in viewers, while ABC’s This Week won Sunday in the demo.
Fox News Sunday saw the biggest growth: up +32 percent in viewers and up +53 percent in the demo. CBS was up +23 percent and up +17 percent, respectively while ABC was up +21 percent in viewers and up +13 percent in the demo.
Meet the Press, which aired at 8 a.m. ET / 5 a.m. PT across the country due to the French Open finals, was not rated this past Sunday. On the same Sunday last year, the show was preempted.
Three cable replays of Fox News Sunday on Fox News Channel averaged a combined 2,463,000 viewers and 504,000 in the demo.
Al Punto also experienced strong year-over-year growth, improving 15 percent in the news demo.
Face the Nation is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 78.3% of the country.
