NBC’s “Meet the Press” was back Sunday after a one-week absence due to the French Open and reclaimed the top spot among the public affairs shows. All four programs had fewer viewers than the same Sunday last year, shrinking the gaps between each show.
With “MTP” returning, the three competing programs were down significantly week-to-week. CBS’ “Face the Nation,” which held the top spot last week, was down 870,000 total viewers.
Cable and network rebroadcasts of “MTP” drew an additional 1,266,000 viewers. “Fox News Sunday” drew an additional 1,796,000 total viewers on cable replays.
