Sunday Show Ratings: July 17

By A.J. Katz

CBS’ Face the Nation with John Dickerson was the most-watched Sunday public affairs program for July 17. In addition to a No. 1 finish, FTN was up 35 percent in total viewers and up 74 percent in the key news demo compared to the same Sunday in 2015.

ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos was the top Sunday public affairs program in the key A25-54 demo. This Week was up 1 percent in the news demo and up 5 percent in total viewers year-over-year.

Meet the Press with Chuck Todd was re-titled by Nielsen because of a 2 p.m. ET start time due to NBC Sports Group coverage of the Open Championship. This is why viewer figures might look lower than usual. Despite the timeslot change, MTP managed to improve by 11 percent in the news demo compared to the same Sunday last year. This coming Sunday, the program will air live from Philadelphia at its usual start time.
