Sunday Show Ratings: Feb. 8

By Brian Flood

ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” was the top-rated public affairs program among the key A25-54 demo for the third-straight week on Feb 8. However, CBS’ “Face the Nation” once again finished first in total viewers.

“This Week” was down -4% in total viewers but up +5% in the demo, compared to the same week last year. “Face the Nation” was up +6% in viewers and but down -19% in the demo. NBC’s “Meet the Press” finished second in the both categories, but had substantial declines from last year, down -21% in viewers and down -33% in the demo. However, it should be noted that a year ago NBC was broadcasting from Sochi for the Winter Olympics, so a decline was expected.

After “Face the Nation,” “This Week” and “Meet the Press” all reached over one million viewers in the demo last week, they all failed to reach that mark on Feb. 8.

“Fox News Sunday” posted the exact same number as last year in viewers and was down -3% in the demo, while combining with cable replays for 3,6 million viewers. Replays on FNC averaged a combined 2.46 million total viewers and 435K in the demo.

“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 75% of the country.
