CBS’ “Face the Nation” won in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic December 8, with ABC’s “This Week” ranking second in both ratings measurements. It was the largest total-viewer victory for ABC over NBC’s “Meet the Press,” which was third this week, in 16 years.
Compared to the same week last year, “Face the Nation,” “This Week” and “Fox News Sunday” were up in both ratings measurements, with Fox up the most in total viewers (+19%) and CBS up the most in the demo (+22%). “Meet the Press” and Univision’s “Al Punto” were down across the board.
Cable replays of “Fox News Sunday” averaged a combined 1,593,000 total viewers and 359,000 A25-54 viewers. Cable rebroadcasts of “Meet the Press” delivered an additional 1,014,000 total viewers and 525,000 A25-54 viewers.
“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 50% of the country.
