Sunday Show Ratings: Dec. 28 and Q4 2014

CBS News’ “Face the Nation” was first in total viewers for Dec. 28 with its largest audience since March 23, 2014 when Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 dominated the news. “Face the Nation” also won the key A25-54 demo and is up +32% in viewers and +14% the demo compared to the same day last year.

ABC’s “This Week” is up +5% in viewers and +11% in the demo, with its most-watched telecast since… also March 23. NBC’s “Meet the Press” is up +6% in viewers and +16% in the demo, finishing ahead of “This Week” in the demo by 48K.

Cable replays of “Fox News Sunday” averaged a combined 1,242,000 total viewers and 231,000 A25-54 viewers, giving “FNS” 2.5M total viewers between network and cable broadcasts. Network broadcasts of “FNS” are up +8% in viewers but down -14% in the demo.

“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 55% of the country.

As for the quarter:

“Face the Nation” holds on to the top spot, with “This Week” edging “Meet the Press” for second place. “Face the Nation” posted its largest fourth quarter audience since the advent of people meters (at least the 1987-1988 television season) and matched the three prior fourth quarters in the demo.
