NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd was the top-rated Sunday public affairs program in total viewers on August 30. This coming Sunday will mark the one-year anniversary of NBC political director Chuck Todd becoming moderator of MTP and the show is up +32 percent in viewers and up +18 percent in the demo, compared to the same week last year. MTP has now grown in both categories for five consecutive weeks.
However, ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos won the key key A25-54 demo despite finishing third in total viewers. This Week is up +12 percent in viewers and +18 percent in the demo. CBS’ Face the Nation with John Dickerson finished second in viewers and third in the demo. FTN was up +6 percent in viewers and even in the demo.
MTP delivered an additional 1.04 million total viewers and 341,000 A25-54 viewers with rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC. Fox News Sunday combined with cable replays for 3.40 million viewers. Replays on FNC averaged a combined 1.93 million total viewers and 296,000 in the demo.
Face the Nation is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 76.3% of the country.
