CBS’ “Face the Nation” notched a win in total viewers on August 24, besting ABC’s “This Week” by +242,000 total viewers. “This Week” won in the A25-54 demo beating the CBS broadcast by 28,000 viewers. “Meet the Press,” guest hosted by Chris Jansing was third. “Fox News Sunday” and Univision’s “Al Punto” were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Compared to the same week last year, every show but “Al Punto”(-3%) was up in total viewers. “Face the Nation” was up the most in total viewers (+30%) and the A25-54 demo (+20%). “Fox News Sunday” was the lone program to lose ground in the demo (-4%).
Cable rebroadcasts of “Fox News Sunday” averaged a combined 2,644,000 total viewers and 560,000 A25-54 viewers.
“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 67% of the country.
