Sunday Show Ratings: August 18

By Merrill Knox

After dipping to its lowest demo ratings in 21 years last week, NBC’s “Meet the Press” was back on top August 18. ABC’s “This Week” was second in both ratings measurements, with just 3,000 viewers separating the two shows in the A25-54 demographic.

CBS’ “Face the Nation,” which remains unavailable to Time Warner Cable viewers in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and other markets, was third. “Fox News Sunday” and Univision’s “Al Punto” were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Compared to the same week last year, only “This Week” is showing growth. The ABC public affairs show is up +6% in Total Viewers and flat in the A24-54 demographic. “Meet the Press,” “Face the Nation,” “Fox News Sunday” and “Al Punto” are all down across the board.

“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 66% of the country.
