ABC’s “This Week” notched a win in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic on August 17, besting CBS’ “Face the Nation” by +81,000 total viewers and +246,000 A25-54 viewers. “Meet the Press,” guest hosted by Andrea Mitchell after David Gregory’s mid-week departure from NBC, was third. “Fox News Sunday” and Univision’s “Al Punto” were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Compared to the same week last year, all five shows were up in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic. “Fox News Sunday” was up the most in total viewers (+46%) and “This Week” was up the most in the demo (+53%).
Cable rebroadcasts of “Fox News Sunday,” guest hosted this week by Shannon Bream, averaged a combined 2,108,000 total viewers and 487,000 A25-54 viewers.
“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 67% of the country.
