Sunday Show Ratings: April 23, 2017

Sunday-AM-Anchors_061015_640On April 23, NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd climbed back into the No. 1 spot, not just in the news demo but also in overall audience.

MTP posted +1 percent growth in total viewers but was -1 percent in the news demo versus the comparable Sunday in 2016 (April 24). NBC’s Sunday public affairs program is the No. 1 Sunday show across the board this season to-date for the first time since the 2010-2011 broadcast season.

CBS’s Face the Nation with John Dickerson came in second in total viewers and third among adults 25-54. The program posted slight year-over-year audience declines, both in total viewers (-1 percent) and in the news demo (-4 percent).

ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos ranked No. 3 in total viewers and No. 2 in the demo. The program posted +3 percent year-over-year total audience growth, but saw a -4 percent decline in the key news demo.  This Week is currently drawing its largest overall audience in 18 years– since the 1998-99 season.

Fox News Sunday hosted by Chris Wallace posted a -2 percent decline in total viewers, but saw a double digit bump in the news demo (+10 percent) compared to the same Sunday in 2016. The trio of cable replays delivered 2.78 million total viewers and 564,000 from the news demo. Altogether, the April 23rd edition of FNS delivered 4.11 million total viewers and 963,000 A25-54.

Al Punto hosted by Jorge Ramos is reporting double digit year-over-year audience growth this season to-date among Total Viewers (+13 percent), millennials (+22 percent) adults 18-49 (17 percent) and in the ad industry-favored A25-54 demo (+11 percent).
