Sunday Show Ratings: 2012-2013 Season And September 22

By Alex Weprin

CBS’ “Face the Nation” was the top Sunday show in total viewers for the 2012-2013 season (with an asterisk, see below). It was the first time “FTN” was tops since Nielsen’s People Meters were first rolled out in 1987. It also had its best total viewer delivery since the 1992-1993 season.

NBC’s “Meet the Press” was a close second in both categories for the season, with ABC’s “This Week” very close behind NBC. It really has become a three-way race on Sunday mornings. ABC and CBS were up compared to the 2011-2012 season, NBC was down, while “Fox News Sunday” was up in total viewers and down in the demo.

As for last Sunday, September 22: “Face the Nation” was tops in total viewers, with ABC’s “This Week” leading the way in the demo. “Meet the Press” was third in total viewers and second in the demo. “Fox News Sunday” and “Al Punto” rounded out the list. Cable replays of “FNS” added 1,599,000 total viewers and 302,000 A25-54 viewers.
