Stossel Ends Tonight After a 7-Year Run on Fox Business

By A.J. Katz

After 7 years, John Stossel hosts his final Stossel on Fox Business Network tonight.

TV news’ most outspoken Libertarian will continue to make guest appearances on Fox News and Fox Business for the foreseeable future.

Stossel had an interesting 2016. He hosted two significant presidential forums, including a Green Party town hall with then-presidential candidate Jill Stein back in September. Prior to that, he presented the 2016 Libertarian presidential forum, featuring Gary Johnson, which aired in April. Around the same time, Stossel announced he’d been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Before joining Fox 7 years ago, Stossel spent 28 years at ABC News, primarily as a co-anchor and correspondent for 20/20. He’s thrived as a TV anchor and reporter despite having to deal with a stutter over the course of his career.

“Freedom is the most important value, and promoting it was my show’s goal over the past seven years,” Stossel told TVNewser. “We have exposed crony capitalists, mocked ridiculous rules and celebrated people make their own choices.”

Stossel airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET.
