Stephen Colbert Addresses CNN Layoffs, Unveils ‘me Reporters 6700’

With his show coming back from a week off, “Colbert Report” host Stephen Colbert took note of the recent layoffs at CNN, first reported on TVNewser earlier this month.

Colbert noted that CNN said that new technology and social media, including iReport, had made some positions redundant. It was only logical that he get in the game too. Colbert then unveiled his own social news initiative, the “me Report 6700,” which features viewer-submitted reports of his colonoscopy, a goat, and live breaking news from a Manhattan bus stop.

Also last night, “The Daily Show” focused a segment on Fox News, which criticized President Obama for apparently omitting the word “God” from a Thanksgiving address. Video of that segment is after the jump.
