Soledad O’Brien says despite the sting of setting that ultra-early alarm, she’s enjoying her weeklong stint as a guest host on CBS This Morning, filling in for Gayle King. “The effects on my sleep cycle not withstanding!” O’Brien told TVNewser.

“It’s wonderful to join a solid team… that values credibility–especially at a crucial time for asking important questions and digging into issues that have real consequences for the American people.”

O’Brien anchored NBC’s weekend Today show before jumping to CNN in 2003. She anchored CNN’s morning show Starting Point until the show was canceled three years ago this month.
