It was not a typical morning editorial meeting for staffers at CBS This Morning today. A person who was there tells us it was an upbeat gathering as CBS News president David Rhodes announced Chris Licht would be moving on and Ryan Kadro, (at right, above) would be moving up.

Following comments from Rhodes, Licht and Kadro, Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell added their congratulations for both Licht, who is moving on be be showrunner for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Kadro who was named to replace him at CTM.

Kadro has been co-ep of the show since December.

An insider tells us Licht joked at a staff town hall meeting in January that he wouldn’t be hosting the next one. CBS News will now look to replace Kadro’s No. 2 slot at the show.
