Smiley: ‘[Obama] the first President in my professional career that hasn’t invited me to the White House’

PBS host Tavis Smiley appeared on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” this morning, where he revealed a surprising fact about President Obama. Despite calling him a friend for many years, and having interviewed many times on the campaign trail, Smiley said the president gave him and his programs the cold shoulder once getting elected:

“He has not at this point come on my TV or radio programs one time since he’s been in this White House,” Smiley said. ” This is the first president in my professional career that hasn’t invited me to the White House.”
