Six Months Ago Today…

Six months ago today:

FNC anchor Shep Smith declared: “It is not an overstatement, and in no way an exaggeration, to say that people are dying and will continue to die on that freeway right there.”

CNN correspondent Chris Lawrence reported: “We saw dead bodies. People are dying at the convention center, and there’s no one to come get them. We saw an older woman, someone’s mother, someone’s grandmother in a wheelchair, her dead body pushed up against the side of the convention center, with a blanket over it. Right on the ground next to her, another dead body, wrapped in a white sheet.”

FNC correspondent Steve Harrigan blogged: “The last time I needed water purification tablets was Afghanistan. I didn’t think I’d need them in Louisiana.”

CNN correspondent Jeanne Meserve evacuated New Orleans: “I truly believe that apart from 9/11 this is one of the most significant events that has ever hit this country.”
